Job Description: Health, Environmental, and Safety (HSE) Intern

Pay Rate: $30/hr

\n\n

Position Overview:
\nThe Health, Environmental, and Safety (HSE) Intern will support the HSE team in ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and company policies. This role offers hands-on experience in various aspects of HSE management, including risk assessments, safety audits, training, and environmental sustainability initiatives.

    EHS Compliance:

    \n\n\t \n\t\t
  • Assist the EHS team in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations\n\t\t
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports and documentation\n\t
\n\t\n\t
  • \n\t

    Safety Audits and Inspections:

    \n\n\t \n\t\t
  • Participate in safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards\n\t\t
  • Aid in the development and implementation of corrective actions to mitigate risks\n\t\n\t\n\t
  • \n\t

    Risk Assessments:

    \n\n\t \n\t\t
  • Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses\n\t\t
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies\n\t\n\t\n\t
  • \n\t

    Training and Education:

    \n\n\t \n\t\t
  • Support the development and delivery of EHS training programs for employees\n\t\t
  • Maintain training records and track compliance\n\t\n\t\n\t
  • \n\t

    Incident Investigation:

    \n\n\t \n\t\t
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses\n\t\t
  • Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence\n\t\n\t\n\t
  • \n\t

    Documentation and Record Keeping:

    \n\n\t \n\t\t
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date EHS documentation and records\n\t\t
  • Track hazardous waste manifests and prepare EHS reports and presentations\n\t\n\t\n\t
  • \n\t

    Continuous Improvement:

    \n\n\t \n\t\t
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects related to EHS processes and programs\n\t\t
  • Manage chemical inventory and provide suggestions for enhancing EHS performance and culture\n\t\t
  • Support safety raffles and incentives\n\t\n\t\n\n\n

    Qualifications:

    \n\n
      \n\t
    • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field\n\t
    • Strong interest in EHS and a desire to learn and grow in the field\n\t
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills\n\t
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities\n\t
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Mail\n\t
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team\n\t
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills\n

    Preferred Qualifications:

    \n\n
      \n\t
    • Previous internship or work experience in an EHS-related role\n\t
    • Knowledge of EHS regulations and standards\n\t
    • Familiarity with EHS management systems and tools\n
    \n\n

    Working Conditions:
    \nThis position may require occasional travel to various company sites.
